Description
This chai-spiced breakfast bowl is our ode to squash. Deeply satisfying, vitamin- and mineral-rich kabocha is backed by oats, sprinkled with crunchy pecans and juicy sultanas, and lightly sweetened with maple. Tastes like autumn, sure, but we’re squash lovers here and believe that the nourishing fruit (yes, fruit) has been unfairly confined to fall for too long.

Kabocha Squash

Kabocha squash, also known as the Japanese pumpkin, is a winter squash variety with thick green skin and deep orange flesh. Orange winter squash is rich in vision-supporting vitamin A and immune-supporting vitamin C.

Oats

A half cup serving of oats makes a good source of fiber, which promotes satiety and helps to maintain good digestive function.

Sultana Raisin

Made from seedless grapes, sultanas are slightly smaller and sweeter than OG raisins. They offer fiber and potassium, an essential mineral and electrolyte.

Pecan

An ounce of pecans provides a good source of digestion-supporting fiber, thiamin (vitamin B1), and the minerals zinc and copper.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a warm baking spice that adds depths of flavor and an unmistakable spicy-sweet aroma.

Nutmeg

Nutmeg comes from the seeds of the nutmeg tree. It brings a warm, nutty flavor and is used in both sweet and savory dishes.

How to prep

  1. 1 Remove film. For stovetop, pour into a pot, add 1/2 cup of your preferred milk. Cook over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently.
  2. 2 Follow directions carefully. Cook with care & do not leave unattended while cooking. Cook to an internal temperature of 165°F.
  3. 3 Enjoy with caution: contents may be hot.
